ITEL LAUNCHES ITEL S42, A44 & A44 PRO ON ANDROID OREO(8.0)

Itel S42 smartphone was launched in March 2018. The phone comes with a 5.65-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1440 pixels at a PPI of 285 pixels per inch. The Itel S42 is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Itel S42 packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 13-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Itel S42 runs Android 8.0 and is powered by a 3000mAh. It measures 153.00 x 73.55 x 8.25 (height x width x thickness) .
The Itel S42 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor.

Another interesting addition to the Itel S42, A44 and A44 Pro is the Multinational Fingerprint Sensor which (aside from unlocking) supports other tasks like; take a photo, accept calls, call recording, stop alarm and app shortcut

ITEL S42

Itel somewhat surprised me on this one because they moved away from Itel as we know it. The most surprising feature -for me- is that this smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, making it Itel’s first Qualcomm phone (also Itel’s first Android Oreo phone). This is coming at a time when I was of the opinion that Itel is fast ditching Spreadtrum chipsets for Mediatek chipsets. Could Itel now be eyeing Qualcomm chips for future releases?

ITEL A44 & A44 PRO

The Itel A44 and A44 Pro share most specs. One interesting addition to both is a Bike Mode Smart Key safety feature. This activates do not disturb (DND) for incoming calls; sending automatic SMS to the caller while you’re driving. To activate Bike Mode, you long press the Smart Key.
